I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults with a range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, abuse, substance misuse, domestic violence, self -harm, work problems, family issues, relationship breakdown, eating disorders, low self-esteem and lack of confidence.

I believe that everyone has the ability to facilitate positive change in their lives and that counselling can enable people to explore difficulties they are facing in order to see things from a different perspective as well as developing a range of coping mechanisms in order to feel more in control of their lives.
About Me
My name is Katherine and I run Brighter Days Counselling. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. This means I work to and abide by a strict code of ethics. I hold an enhanced DBS and I am first aid trained.

I have worked as a professional counsellor for many years in a wide range of settings including GP surgeries, social services family team, primary/ secondary schools (students and staff) and colleges. I offer a person centred counselling approach with the use of other techniques, such as expressive therapies, where appropriate in order to meet the needs of the individual client.
